Maracana Corcovado

To experience football like a Brazilian, go to Maracanathe largest football stadium in Brazil and one of the most famous in the world. This venue, inaugurated on the occasion of the 1950 World Cup, hosted the last match of the 2014 FIFA World Cup and was also the main stage for several 2016 Olympic Games.

Go there on a match day and check out Rio’s rival soccer teams Regatas Flamengo and Fluminense FC.

Santa Teresa and Lapa

Venture into the charming district of Santa Teresa and Lapa to meet the Cariocas, native Brazilians of Rio de Janeiro.

The neighborhood of Santa Teresa, located at the top of the hill of the same name, is a strategic point for a fantastic view of Rio. This place brings together a beautiful community of artists in the city. Stroll through its winding streets to discover its corners and the public performances of artists from the neighborhood.

At the Parque das Ruinas cultural center is the Museu da Chácara do Céu, a former residence transformed into a museum, with exhibitions of works by Matisse and Jean Metzinger.

Sugar Loaf Mountain

This natural dome rises 33 meters above the port. It is one of Rio’s most recognizable symbols. Climbing Sugar Loaf Mountain by cable car has two main stages: first up the nearby hill of Urca, then up Sugar Loaf Mountain.

With its cabins with completely transparent side walls, the cable car will allow you to enjoy a 360° panorama of the beaches of Flamengo, Botafogo, Copacabana, Ipanema, Pedra da Gávea, the Tijuca massif, etc.

The best time to visit Sugar Loaf is at sunset, when the city lights fall into the ocean.

The cable car rides depart daily every twenty minutes and the ticket office is open from 8 a.m. to 7:50 p.m.

Christ the Redeemer

Christ the Redeemer is the monumental statue of Rio de Janeiro, located on Mount Corcovado. It is the emblem of the city and beyond, of all of Brazil. It is also one of the most important symbols of Christianity in the world and welcomes more than 600,000 visitors each year.

You can admire Christ the Redeemer speak Corcovado Train or by making a guided tour.

Iguazu Falls

The Iguazu Falls are located on the border of Brazil and Argentina, near the city of Iguazu, a small city of more than 300,000 inhabitants. On the Brazilian side, the view is majestic.

With a height of 80 meters and about 3 km wide, the Iguazu Falls invite you to exceptional show. Their force is estimated at around 1800 meters per second.

The best time to visit this place is between April and September. You can then enjoy different excursions in the beautiful region of Iguazu.
