Chicago has just been voted the best city in the United States

For the ninth consecutive year, the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards elect the best cities in the world, and in particular those in the United States.

Chicago is the best big city in the United States

The readers of Conde Nast Traveler voted Chicago the best big city in the United States. A victory, for the sixth consecutive year, which confirms the attractiveness and success of the city with travellers. An unprecedented record since no other city has been elected more than three consecutive times since the creation of the ceremony 35 years ago.

The ranking was established by collecting testimonials and travel experiences from more than 240,000 readers. “It’s a great honor to once again be voted the best big city in the United States. This recognition is no coincidence. It’s a testament to the hard work of the people who make Chicago an inviting and welcoming city. Winning this award for six consecutive years, combined with the success of the summer season we just completed, clearly shows that Chicago has a bright past, present and future for tourism,” said Lynn Osmond, president of the Choose Chicago travel agency.

Chicago, a dynamic and attractive city

“Condé Nast Traveler readers know what Chicagoans have always known… our city is the best in the country. Chicago has it all: picturesque lakefronts, extraordinary architecture, world-class museums, the nicest people and, yes, the best pizza too,” commented Jay Robert Pritzker, Governor of Illinois.

And it is true that the American city lacks neither charm nor activities. This is demonstrated by the number of events that have taken place in Chicago this year, and in particular the festivals, like the Lollapalooza last July. Located at the foot of Lake Michigan, the northern metropolis the United States is a real cultural getaway. With its 40 museums, including the highly renowned Art of Institute of Chicago, the city easily seduces art lovers. For those who want to rediscover the emblematic musical atmosphere of the capital of jazz in the 1950s and 1960s, many clubs immerse their customers in the discography of the biggest names in the field. The “Windy City” will also have inspired one of the greatest pieces of blues in history, Sweet Home Chicagoto Robert Johnson.
