my good addresses and activities to do in Milan

For the May Day weekend, with my blogging friends @misscycyphoto, @allomaya and my lover @namedmatteo we went for a trip to the nearest of the most beautiful Italian cities: Milan. On the program, visits and Dolce Vita to enjoy this beautiful sunny weekend. Many of you asked me for a city guide (it seems that this city is very popular for this summer!). So it’s done. Here are my favorite addresses to enjoy a few days in the Italian fashion capital. Special mention to Miss-Cycy who was a great GPS throughout the stay!

Ciao tutti, ha i miei indirizzi preferiti a Milano!

Discover a timeless corner at Fonderie Milanesi

Open the wrought iron gate yourself to enter this atypical alley. On your right a vintage Harley Davidson café and on your left a cove converted into a tea room. And at the back of the courtyard, the charming old building of the Milanesi Foundry. The decoration reminiscent of the prohibition era is incredible and the garden covered with fairy lights makes you want to stay there all night. Take one of the famous Milanese Aperitivi: pay for a cocktail (avoid the mojito, we didn’t like it at all) and have free access to a small all-you-can-eat buffet little varied but absolutely delicious.

Via Giovenale, 7, 20136 Milano – www.fonderiemilanesi.it

Stroll along the canals in the Navigli district

It is one of the most famous districts of the city and also the most essential! At the end of the day, wander through the bustle of Milan near the canals. Cross the bridges, browse the flea markets on weekends and discover small restaurants and stalls, each more charming than the next. OWe liked this place so much that we went there several times during the weekend to enjoy the different atmospheres depending on the day of the week. And seeing the sun set over the water is priceless!

Enjoy the most beautiful view of the city on the rooftop of the Terrazza Aperol

We didn’t want to wait an hour and ruin ourselves to climb to the top of the Duomo, so we went to the superb rooftop of the Terrazza Aperol to sip a cocktail. Don’t be intimidated by the long queue: it’s relatively quick. The prices are quite reasonable for such a pretty place with a view of the Duomo and the main square. In addition, they distribute homemade chips. Big crush for the exotic cocktail Bora Bora (€7 during the day).

Devour the best brunch in an idyllic setting at Eccellenze Campane

I do not know where to begin to praise the merits of this Italian coffee. The decoration is really sublime and it is a real pleasure to eat there before attacking a busy day of visits. But above all, don’t be fooled by the chic atmosphere that reigns in this place: it’s a real good plan! For €5 you will be entitled to an all-you-can-eat buffet of fruit, pastries, juice and cakes as well as a hot drink. Add 3€ and you will have a salty panini and a pressed juice!

Warming up the camera in Piazza del Duomo

It’s the number one thing to do in Milan and you’ll take your breath away at the beauty of the Duomo (think of the skip-the-line tickets to climb to the top of the Cathedral), which still cost 18€!). On the left, impossible to miss the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. Star of Instagram photos, this gallery is breathtaking with its architecture and the beautiful shops that are present there. You won’t know where to look! It is the place par excellence where the charm of the city of Milan is most striking. And don’t be fooled like us by Amorino ice cream (we waited 45 minutes for a queue of 10 people…). Prefer the taste of delicious 100% Italian ice cream from nearby ice cream parlors.

Venture into the atypical courtyard of 10 Corso como

If there is one address that all bloggers recommend in Milan, it is this one. And for good reason ! This anonymous place near the buildings of the business district seems out of time. Find small terraces covered in greenery, luxury designer workshops or small concept stores and a perfect rooftop to relax after long hours of walking in the city. I promise, you will draw your camera to immortalize this unique place!

Make personalized cosmetics at Kiko

Forget magnets for the fridge or key rings. This time, bring back a personalized cosmetic from your vacation in Milan! The Kiko store (which is one of my favorite brands in terms of make-up) located close to the Duomo offers unique technology. It’s the only Kiko store that has a robot that laser engraves lipsticks and mascaras. Choose your favorite product (it was good for me: I swear by the Unlimited Pen for my mouth), choose a drawing (the Duomo? a heart?) or a text and let the robot do the work. Most ? It costs nothing at all! On would be wrong to deprive oneself of it.

Soak up history at Sforza Castle

Milan is the city of shopping par excellence, but not only! It is a city of history and architecture that is full of treasures. The Sforza Castle, an old fortress transformed into a museum can be visited and is filled with various collections on themes such as: furniture, applied arts, musical instruments, medieval art… Take the opportunity to stop in the large park which is one of the few in Milan and listen to the street musicians while eating a ice cream sitting on the grass.

Piazza Castello, 20121 Milano

Treat yourself at a low price during the Manhattan aperitivo

We discovered it by chance during one of our escapades in the Navigli district. Pay only for the cocktail of your choice (and the list is long!) and throw yourself on the all-you-can-eat buffet at no extra charge. You will get away with it for ten euros (I got it for 11€) et you can draw as much as you want from the different dishes. On the menu: salads, turkey, pizzas, pasta, desserts of all kinds… You will leave with the bidou as full as your wallet thanks to this saving (sorry for the poor quality of the photos, they are from a video… we ate so well that we forgot to take the pictures!).

Ripa di Porta Ticinese, 13, 20143 Milano

This city break really did us good and I recommend it! The town is small, you can go around in a weekend. Ideal for winding down after a long week. Thanks again to AlloMaya, Miss-Cycy and Matteo for supporting me! Are you planning to go to Milan? Tell me everything !
