monaco is a small independent country located on the French Riviera, between Nice and Menton, in the south of France.
For many reasons, this principality is unique in the world.
First of all, it concentrates the highest population density that can be found on the planet.
Every corner of the few square kilometers of the city is occupied either by a road or by a building and more rarely by a garden.
Then, Monaco is a place that gathers a lot of wealth. Visiting Monaco can only be magnificent!

An easily accessible destination
It couldn’t be easier to go on a trip to Monaco.
Indeed, Monaco is an hour by car from Nice where we find one of the largest airports in France.
But if you prefer the train, it is possible to reach the magnificent Monaco station in 35 minutes from Nice station.
By helicopter, it will cost you a little more but it will be faster (barely 10 minutes) and as a bonus, you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the French Riviera.
The helicopter is very practical in summer when there are traffic jams to enter the principality from the highway.
In Monaco, it is easier to get around on foot than by car. You can therefore leave your car in the car park.
There are many well-appointed and secure public car parks in each neighborhood.
The Monegasque bus network is very efficient and comfortable. In particular, it allows you to go from the Rock to the Casino de Monte-Carlo in a few minutes.
Anyway, the city is not huge.
You can do everything on foot if you are used to walking which is really very practical.
This also allows you to take the time to appreciate the architecture of the buildings, which are sometimes very classic and sometimes ultra modern.

The sun and the sea as far as the eye can see
As much to tell you right away, in Monaco, you will rarely see the rain. The sun is out almost every day of the year.
Even when the weather is bad in the hinterland, the sun remains very present above Monaco.
The city is quite protected from bad weather by the surrounding mountains. On the sea side, you will be amazed by the azure blue of the Mediterranean Sea. Its temperature is very pleasant from May to September.
It exists two public beaches for swimming in Monaco: that of Larvotto and Solarium Beach (a beach on a floating structure).
There is also a private beach at the hotel level. Meridian Monte Carlo as well as a pontoon Monte Carlo Bay.
Outside these periods, you can enjoy one of the many swimming pools found in most hotels in Monaco.
They are generally heated all year round.
Le Rocher, an authentic neighborhood
The emblematic Rocher district is home to the palace of Prince Albert II of Monaco. Impossible to go through Monaco without going to the Rock.
You will be surprised by the very picturesque side of this district with its narrow streets.
You will begin your visit with the prince’s palace, of which some rooms are accessible to the public.
It is quite a rare privilege to be able to visit a place of power in this way almost all year round.
You will witness the changing of the guard. With a bit of luck, you might even see the Prince exit with his escort from the palace.
Then, you will stroll through the small streets that lead to the cathedral. There, you will stroll through the stalls where you can buy some more or less local souvenirs.
Monaco-Ville is also home to the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco.
With its shark lagoon and its many collections around the sea, you will discover the underwater world in all its diversity.
Attend the Monaco Grand Prix
The Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix is the most famous car race in the world.
Visiting Monaco is potentially seeing the race too!
Every May, during May weekendsthe principality is transformed into a large racing circuit. The racing cars, launched at more than 300 km/h, roar for a weekend to compete for first place on the podium.
This race has the particularity of being held in the middle of town. Formula 1 vehicles use the same roads as the vehicles during the other days of the year.
In particular, they go through the famous bend of the Fairmont or even in front of the Monte-Carlo casino.
There are more than 100,000 spectators who move and come to occupy each space overlooking the circuit.
It’s a absolutely amazing show very popular with motor racing enthusiasts.
This event largely contributed to creating the legend of the principality. All you have to do is choose your side between Ferrari and McLaren.
Flambé at the Casino de Monte-Carlo
The Place du Casino is the place where all the tourists converge. It must be said that this place is really superb.
On the left you have the Coffee of Paris. On the right stands the mythical Hotel in Paris and facing you is the Monte Carlo Casino.
This casino has retained its charm of yesteryear. The decor is very elaborate and reflects the prestige of the destination from the end of the 19e century.
This casino does not look like contemporary casinos. Here, moldings and gilding rub shoulders with statues and superb windows.
It’s a very nice place to visit, beautiful. In the afternoon from 2 p.m., you can even play.
You will of course find the usual slot machines. But that’s not all.

Outside, the terrace overlooks the sea offering a superb panorama. It’s easy to get carried away by the intoxication of the game.
